The Davis Junior Blue Devils is a non-profit organization designed to promote football and cheerleading for children aged 6 to 14 in the City of Davis and surrounding communities. Together with teams from the Greater Sacramento area, we make up the Sacramento Youth Football League.    Our Mission To guide kids to reach their highest potential in life by teaching the fundamentals of football and cheerleading Our Beliefs • Victories on the field are a by-product of maintaining clear priorities in life, winning is not the focus. Priorities are family first, academics second, and football/cheer third. • We want participants to put out their best effort in order to have a great experience. • We will strive to emphasize the following set of principles that in turn will foster the development of key life skills: teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, and preparation.

Our Football Philosophy • Game time is at the discretion of the Head Coach; however, all players are expected to play each game. • Strongly discourage “two-way” players and encourage coaches to platoon the offense, defense, and special teams. • Coaches are expected to include all players in practice drills and activities. • Parents with concerns about playing time or practices should first discuss their thoughts with the Head Coach (not during games and away from kids at practices). If this issue is not resolved with the Head Coach, it is the parent’s responsibility to contact the Coaches Commissioner. If the issue is still not resolved, parents are encouraged to contact the Vice President so that their concerns can be discussed at the next Board meeting.
